Stop Junk Mail?

I have a strange obsession with getting the mail. I love getting letters, magazines, cards, etc, but there is no bigger disappointment than a mailbox full of junk. What a waste of paper, and my time. There is an online service called Green Dimes that promises to rid your mailbox of these annoying offers. There are 3 levels of subscription, the basic services being free, premium services costing a one time $20 fee, and the "bundle" which costs a one time $36 fee. The paid services offer more perks such as monthly monitoring of your name on junk mail lists, 24/7 customer service (which I'm not sure is a huge selling point for me, why would I need to contact my junkmail reducing provider at 3am?), having 5 trees planted for you and unlimited household names. When you sign up at any level, Green Dimes will send you a dollar, plant a tree for you, or send you a copy of an environmental magazine. I'm not sure that I am ready to spring for a paid subscription, but I am definitely going to check out the free services to see how much of a difference it makes. I'll let you know how Green Dimes works out for me, and if you join, please share your experience with me.
